Favorite clients came to JBD with approved plans for a vacation home in Hawaii. The plans did not reflect their preferred aesthetic. Hence, we maintained the volumes of the original design, but reimagined the style and layout of the property. JBD designed the kitchen, baths, and custom millwork. We also specified all finishes, lighting, and art.  With a vision toward a quiet interior and cool respite from the heat of the beach, birch plywood panels were used to line walls and ceilings throughout. Furniture is upholstered in neutral fabrics, as a backdrop for vibrant custom pillows and textiles, which reflect the tropical setting and impart an immediate sense of vacation.
