lagunitas treehouse

Summer camp, redwoods, and reuse were the inspiration for this new build. Situated on a shady lot, the house needed clever solutions to create a feeling of openness and contrast with the dark paneling. Enter color-infused cabinetry, oak floors, and lighter textiles. The client’s art and antiques collection was carefully considered alongside contemporary design choices. The bathrooms and kitchen were designed to have a vintage feel, but with cleaner lines and finishes.

I worked with this client and their architect for over two years, managing every design detail from start to finish. Despite being new construction, guests often remark that the house feels like it's always been there.
